Maybe if you live in the boonies. If you’re gonna live by the beach, it’s not that cheap. That’s just based on my travels though.
How much per month ?
From people I talked to you can get a decent 1 bedroom for about $1k a month in San Blas which is near El Zonte. I didn’t research rental costs in Costa Rica, but my guess is it would be the same or more in or near Uvita. In Guatemala I found a 1 bedroom with an awesome view of Lake Atitlan for only $500 a month. Looked at a bunch of apartments in Bitcoin Lake and they were all pretty cheap.
In El Zonte proper, Hope House rents out a 1 bedroom for something like $2k a month

It’s not just Bitcoin that made the prices go up. I think it’s mostly because they locked up all the gang members. El Salvador has become a huge tourist destination now and not just because of Bitcoin. In the beach towns, you’ll meet more tourists who are there for surfing than bitcoin.
El Salvador is; Costa Rica not so much.
