I derped but I see what you mean now. Signal good for secure text off NOSTR. Telegram for wider adoption perhaps, fairly secure. On NOSTR, how about OxChat? I'm impressed w/ it and it has encrypted private text chat like Signal, and also NOSTR DM's built in. nostr:npub1nl8r463jkdtr0qu0k3dht03jt9t59cttk0j8gtxg9wea2russlnq2zf9d0 wdy think?
I'm one of those lucky few for whom 0xChat never worked... Signal and Telegram are good for community building until something better comes along...
There is also Chorus, which is a nice (and newer) Nostr app: https://chorus.community/

User chooses either anonymous or Nostr login, but can see instructions explaining how and why. If anonymous, enters text chat room and can chat as anon, different account each time. If nostr, logs into text chat as same NPUB each time (welcome screen explains though, that they might not want to use their main NPUB for this.) From text chat, users who volunteer can enter an audio/video chat on hivetalk where they can have a formal meeting. The meeting has its own text chat separate. The meeting is public and anyone can just watch or participate. The main text chat is private invite only for the planners of the whole system.
(don't know if this is best its just what I had in mind)
Been thinking about this a lot, I think partly because it is a way to live out the principle that free choices by individuals work better than state power to solve public issues. Ron Paul stuff.
