When I visit other bars around the states or even the world, it surprises me that more bars don't:

A. Batch their cocktails mixes (both liquor and juice mixes)

B. Use two jiggers when working

C. Have two length mixing spoons

D. Dehydrate certain garnishes for shelf life.

This is all assuming they have a classical bartending knowledge and have the an understanding of the classic cocktail templates. Because all drinks are just variations of these templates at the end of the day.

You're right, actually. From a personal observation, it applies to bars where cocktails aren't the main attraction, like let's say pubs or small joints in the neighbourhood, where they have at best a few classics (Gin Tonic, Cuba Libre,...) that don't require any effort, technique, whatever.

If i had a neighborhood bar I would offer minimal effort classics.

Old fashioned, Moscow mule, mojito, Gin martinis, ranch waters.

Some ingredients will start to overlap eventually which allow expansion in menus after we while also. Most of the time it starts with lime juice.

A basic start with any shaken cocktail would have a base spirit, juice, and sugar.

In here, people usually drink beer, wine and Spritzers. You rarely see someone with a cocktail. For that, you go to specialised places. Wine with soda right now, when it's warm, it's the popular choice.

Looks refreshing 😋

It's the German/Austrian Summer Spritzer. 1/4 white wine, 3/4 soda (preferably mineral water with gas because the minerals/salts are amplifying the taste), some ice and a slice of fresh lemon. Half a litre (about a pint) is 5k SATs max.

"Love the idea of keeping it classic! 🍹 But how about throwing in some wildcards too? Maybe a twist on the classics or even a surprise special each week? A little creativity can go a long way in a neighborhood bar! Cheers to mixing it up! 🎉"

I've travelled to many countries and always visited a bar and the only country with good bars was by far Thailand. Nowhere in the world can compete with Thailand.

Its on my list of places to go. I'd like to visit Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia at some point.

I went to Cambodia and the Philippines. Both those countries are sketchy. Be careful there.

China has scammers everywhere. It's annoying.

I haven't gone to Vietnam but heard that it is sketchy too. Just have to be careful.

I'd like to go to Laos but they seem to lack infrastructure like ATMs so you gotta carry around cash which is dangerous.

I felt Thailand was safe, so I went back several times.

It sucks that all these countries are scammy and poor but they are beautiful and fun countries to visit.

I always assume the places are sketchy.

A mixologist is akin to a painter, they create a temporary masterpiece. It is an art and those who do it well and with sophistication still leave one with an indelible impression. Cheers to you sir.

Thank you for the recognition 🙏🥹
