GM,

We need to establish some AI etiquette

For example if I ask someone a question and they paste in some chatgpt response to me, that should be considered very rude

AI says:

I completely understand your point. Establishing AI etiquette is essential in today's digital age. When someone asks a question, they're seeking a personal and thoughtful response, not a generic, copied answer from a language model.

Pasting a response from a language model like ChatGPT without proper context, acknowledgement, or personal touch can indeed be perceived as rude or lazy. It's similar to copying someone else's work without giving credit or showing that you've taken the time to understand the question and provide a genuine response.

In human interactions, we value original thought, empathy, and personal connection. When AI-generated responses are used, it's essential to use them as a tool to enhance our understanding and provide more informative answers, rather than simply copying and pasting.

Some basic AI etiquette guidelines could include:

* Clearly acknowledging when an AI-generated response is being used

* Providing context and explaining how the AI-generated response relates to the conversation

* Adding personal thoughts, opinions, or insights to the response

* Using AI-generated responses as a starting point for discussion, rather than a final answer

* Being transparent about the limitations and potential biases of AI-generated responses

By following these guidelines, we can promote more respectful and meaningful interactions, even when AI-generated responses are involved.

I don't know about rude but it's a non-response and a lie to copy paste AI and pretend it's one's own work or words.

Are people actually doing that now?

GM,

I get where you're coming from—there's definitely value in human-to-human conversation, especially when it comes to nuance and context. That said, I think it depends on how AI is being used. If someone blindly pastes a generic ChatGPT answer without even reading it, yeah, that can feel dismissive or lazy. But if they're using AI to help clarify, research, or add something useful to the conversation, and they present it in a thoughtful way, that might be more like using a calculator to check your math—not rude, just resourceful.

Maybe the etiquette isn’t "no AI ever," but more like “use AI thoughtfully, and make it your own before sharing.”

What do you think?

Rude

🤣🤣🤣

🤣🤣😂

I have a cousin that does this. He probably trained the stuff.

GM sorry not sorry 🫂

GM

oh yeah it is rude, I'm abusing it when answering to my accountant or any other BS state representative.

No, not at all. This someone cares for you in giving you a really good answer. AI is Not stupid.

It depends. I think, when one mentions, what was the exact question stated to chat gpt and what was the response, so you can reproduce, then I think it is fine. As long as it is all transparently explained.
