living life without having to use any technology seems to be a new privilege.

it used to be a sign of wealth to have access to all the technologies, now wealth to me, is not being dependent on technology at all. freedom from forced screens.

it’s purity

💯

I've always associated high-tech with labor, as my parents were both in engineering and the same goes for my present household and extended family.

Everyone is some sort of engineer, scientist, analyst, or technician, so if we're using a phone or a computer, we're probably working.

I've even started working on Nostr. I used to just come here to relax.

Yeah you are right. "The more successful one is, the more independent they are of apps and devices, including smartphones. Many scientists and artists nowadays don't use them."

Wise words, i agree

Yep 🧡

We go in cycles, more more more, less less less….

The key here is in the concepts of "forced" and "dependent".

Technology are tools, which allowed humanity to thrive, and I am grateful for having access to them.

The problem arises when tech becomes one's chains.

I want an email free life 🌱

Yep. It is the purest way. Zero personal tech.

That looks European... Vienna? Prague?

Absolutely. US examples:

Banking -> use our mobile app for the best experience

Insurance -> must use the web portal to sign up and pay

Shopping -> you want a discount? Install our mobile app

Sorry we only take credit cards here

My state benefits -> you must use your federal digital ID to continue

Give me some time I could probably come up with a few more.
