Once as a resident I had to defibrillate an atrial fibrillation to get it back into rhythm. We didn't realize that the patient was not fully sedated with Propofol.

When we gave it the 360 joule kick, a growl and the characteristic smell of burnt steak could be heard in the background ⚡🤕😅 #DocChain

I took this dudes vtach personally when the first shock went into rhythm then kicked wide again.

I completely forgot about the very conscious human being while staring down the monitor.

Felt bad but then opened up a can of amio and got it sorted.

Not as crazy, but as a HS volunteer in an ER, I watched a nervous resident put 4 stitches in the deeply lacerated hand of a burly mechanic. On number 5, he growled, "You know, I can feel those."

Startled, she looked around at everyone and said, "Didn't any of you anesthetize his hand??!!"

(No. No we didn't, because WE'RE NOT DOCTORS) <-- My thought.
