Besides blueberries, we also have s spot with Waldmeister! ๐ŸŒฟ

I think Woodruff is an absolute insider tip. The flavor is artificially added to a lot of foods. And it's just growing wildly here in middle Europe!

When you gather it, leave it for some hours and it will intensify the very special taste. It's best to gather them before blooming.

I brought some to my family for the easter weekend, to make a drink with woodruff flavor. ๐Ÿ’š just adding some white wine (non alcoholic) and lemonade and let the woodruff sit for some hours.

Now I'm figuring out how to preserve the flavor for later this year. I could make some syrup but I don't really like to make another sugar bomb. ๐Ÿ‘€

Great advice, friend!

Really interesting thanks

love Waldmeister too!!! No idea how to preserve the flavour? Maybe by juicing the plant and freeze it in ice cubes?

I love doing refreshing drinks with it too...wit lemon and a sweeten it with xylit. Really nice. Hope your family likes and appreciates it!! <3

We went for wild garlic today and are eating Bรคrlauch Pesto right now made freshly ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

the best!! maybe i will just freeze it like it is ๐Ÿ˜Š yess, refreshing drinks seems like the way to go ๐Ÿ˜ thanks for your thoughts!

my fam is all excited ๐Ÿฅณ

ohh this is the way! Enjoy the wildgarlic! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‹

I just planted waldmeister two weeks ago. Is a good bodendecker ๐Ÿซฃ too!

thats nice joe ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒฑ

I don't know this plant or how it tastes and how you use it with other foods. Nice to learn. I also learned that there is non alcoholic wine ๐Ÿคฎ ๐Ÿ˜€.

Still i have two recommendations ๐Ÿ˜€.

In general we dry leafy plants like this if we want to preserve them. I guess you could do that, but i don't know the plant. Also sometimes we preserve stuff like this in olive oil so that the oil takes the flavour. Again though, i don't know the plant or how it tastes or how it is used with other food.

What do you think of this?

you really have to try! its so special. Maybe grow it from seeds in a pot

i was walking through the wine shelfs for too long to finally find non alcoholic wine. ๐Ÿ˜‚ But doing it for someone I love who used to like to drink alcohol sometimes. :)

last year i dried woodruff and it lost its aroma very much! so maybe freezing (or syrup)

ohhh and the taste, idk its sweet and also smells a bit like dry hay. Its a flavor that is used to sweeten stuff. Like waterice or drinks for kids.

so olive oil is not the way i think :p

Yeah, since you have already tried drying it and since it is not suitable for using it with olive oil, i agree if it is like you say, then go for freezing ๐Ÿ‘
