When you gotta make your own feel better chicken soup it just isn't as effective ๐Ÿ˜ซ. But damn it's tasty. It was chicken stew with biscuit style dumplings...so basically chicken and dumplings. Used some sourdough discard for the biscuits/dumplings. #itwasfoodstr #iwantmymommy #allgone

I dont see anything๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ˜† it was so good I forgot to snap a picture. Here's the kid's seconds, lol.

Ah, ok, yes it looks delicious!

He set it down to blow his nose ๐Ÿคง. He's having allergies, too (it's like we're related...).

I am sorry you feel bad. I hope the sourdough dumplings help at least a little ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿซ‚

Thank you ๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚, I'm positive it's just the raging allergies a wet winter brings. It helped some, but it would've been better if I didn't have to make it ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ.

Oh no, you're sick now? I hope you feel better quickly! Based on that description, you know exactly the remedy.

I'm going with allergies, spring is springing here and it was a wet winter. It's been a while since I've had a bad allergy season, so I'm due ๐Ÿ˜‚. Are you feeling better?

Allergies are the worst. I'm feeling much better, still some nastiness lingering, but I'm just pushing on. Looking forward to seeing that recipe of yours on zap.cooking, made my mouth water a little.

Take it easy, and have some chicken soup!

I've never done one. I use a meal plan service, so I'd have to fudge a little ๐Ÿค”. But for the dumplings I just use the recipe as a suggestion so I can use my starter discard.

I went to town on some chicken soup, but just the canned stuff. When I'm actually feeling 100% I throw a bunch of stuff in the instant pot and call it a day. But I'm digging the dumplings idea.

The instant pot is a wonderful thing! I cooked a ton of chicken in it earlier some for this and some for snacking on.

Biscuit Dumplings

1 c flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

2 tsp baking powder

salt & pepper (I also throw in some smoked paprika)

3 tbsp melted butter

1/2 c milk

2-3 tbsp sourdough discard

Wet ingredients together, dry ingredients together. Mix all together until just combined, it'll be a sticky dough. Plop them in on top of your simmering soup (I try to make a bunch of small ones because we really like them. You can break them apart if they touch but it works best if they're not touching), cover and cook for 10-15 min. DON'T STIR!! They'll look doughy on the outside but should be dry inside.

Added to bookmarks. making this asap. Thank you!

No problem, they're sooooo good. Coming from a person who hates all the dumplings in chicken and dumplings I've ever had ๐Ÿ˜‚.
