I switched from Spotify to Tidal recently and really like Tidal. They pay artists more than Spotify does. Tidal has HiFi options too but I listen on Bluetooth so don’t get the full effect from HiFi quality. Tidal doesn’t have podcasts though so I had to find another app for those.
Discussion
Yeah, those aspects about Tidal are nice. One of the reasons, I have been hesitant to leave Spotify is that they now let you stream audiobooks, and their selection is top tier. I’m convinced that Amazon is supplying them consumer data in some way because their suggestions match my Amazon Saved Items list too closely. Like, how did Spotify know that I want to read Atlas of the Heart by Brene Brown when I mostly listen to Trap Music and Afrobeats? 🤨
Haha, I can’t imagine the Brene Brown/Afrobeats Venn Diagram is very large! Honestly it feels good not being tied into Spotify anymore but I don’t do audiobooks. Audible as a stand alone subscription is pricey too.
