You should see what they’re saying on Bluesky.

Not throughly versed in this subject. Is any of it true?

Nope. Ross was actually a great example of harm reduction.

There’s also the outrageous case of a federal agent who prosecuted him going to prison for actually stealing bitcoin from Silk Road!

https://www.motherjones.com/criminal-justice/2015/10/silk-road-investigator-sentencing-corruption-force/

Fitting

I wonder if they were dismissed with prejudice, thus can never be brought again?

Exactly. Considering how many tens of thousands of people in the US has gotten hard jail time for non-violent substance offenses, Ross is and must be considered a hero.

Amen 🙏🏻

There are whole departments in the addiction field dedicated to harm reduction.

There are also organizations like Dance Safe that test drugs at raves.

NARCAN saves lives.

Nothing wrong with these things.

goodness me......he developed an online marketplace......people buy illicit goods all the time using e-commerce......no one seems to notice.

Some are addicted to Amazon 🤷‍♀️

precisely......Amazon sells great stuff..........and you know....stuff that is not so great.......but lets all celebrate Bezos.

Thx for reminding me I need to do an Amazon return

He broke the law but the sentence in no way matched the crime.

No. CP, people and (unfortunately) guns were not allowed on Silk Road. Basically it was just drugs and bootleg DirecTV cards.

Directv cards? Where there cable boxes too??!

I'm sure. Back in those days if you had a box you just needed a working card. I remember seeing lots of cards, lots of (legal) porn site accounts and stuff like that. Also legal stuff, books and things.

I should say, I honestly never bought anything on there. But I heard about it, checked it out, thought it was absolutely amazing. It was my first introduction to bitcoin.

I missed out on that.

They really missed the point, blinded by their hate of 47 🤷‍♀️

Did he make money of off illegal activities on Silk Road?

Yes.

What trashy hyperbole

They are talking about someone who committed a nonviolent crime as a mass murderer. What clowns.

Overdosing and dying from drugs bought from Silk Road is non violent?

Sounds like a personal choice not Ross making that choice for you

So by your theory, all drug dealers are upstanding citizens that provide a needed service, even though the drugs they sell can make you an addict, make you a criminal, or kill you. Got it.

Yes. Adult people can decide for themselves what they do with their own body.

Hence the word "adult". They are not children that need protection by a nanny state.

They are ADULTS.

Except, kids are buying the drugs, you moron.

Then maybe something went wrong in their upbringing.

You can't blame marketplaces for bad parents

Drug addicts spend years on working on accountability and taking responsibility for their actions. They don’t sit in AA blaming their dealer. This kind of thinking is exactly why we have a nanny state that will eventually fail.

You are living in a fantasy world if you think drug addicts spend years working on accountability instead of their next fix, especially when they are kids.

Selling to minors is definitely something we can both agree isn’t right, idk if that’s a life time in jail offense though. That’s definitely a 5-10 year offense but not life dude. Ross didn’t sell to minors he created a website chill

He created a website with the intention of selling drugs anonymously and profited handsomely. He is not innocent in all this. Although he shouldn’t have gotten life.

Definitely not innocent, but can agree the sentence was insane

You do not seem to understand private property.

YOUR BODY IS YOUR PRIVATE PROPERTY.

You can do with it what you want, nobody has the right to tell you, what to take or not to take.

I love how the lefties are not above feigning apoplexy over DRUGS to take pot shots at their political enemies.

Histrionic dolts

Funny thing is I see harm reduction as a leftist ideal…if I had to pick

Mostly because it requires funding in the addiction field, which tends to come from govt

We are well beyond any of this making any goddamned sense...

When I worked in the addiction field, I worked at a non-profit. We received a ton of state funding.

Some programs amounted to enabling… govt funded enabling.

My disdain for the bluesky scum deepens.

They are fragile there

Let them cook in their own bile.

Victimhood is often a choice 💫

Why do they always have to make shit up? People that just make shit up are off putting. They could just say "drug dealer drug empire" and all that, but they have to throw in CP and guns. Full of shit people are the worst.

I mean most dealers have a gun 🤣

It’s not entirely loose logic 🤣

But people and their biases are hard to separate 🤷‍♀️

"as the owner of silk road he PERSONALLY KILLED...." 😳

Lord Almighty, how pretentious and lying can these bluesky fucks be??!

“maybe even thousands”

Fuck off, for real. Nobody ever died from smoking too much weed.

Now, I don't know how much hard narc was traded on SR, but I strongly doubt that it wa enough to justify such an accusation with and degree of reasonable assumptions.

People love talking out of their asses just so they can smell it.

lol

Had to lighten the mood

This is true. My butt breath is other-worldly. Sometimes I bottle it for a nice pick-me-up sniff later on 🤷‍♀️

I prefer the sounds over the smells 🤣

Sounds are just for a moment. The odor…stays with ya for a while 😂

The Lingering.

I suddenly have the cranberries stuck in my head 🤔

The first time you smell it, for whatever reason you always have to take a second sniff for confirmation. What’s that about?

Confirmation.

🤣

the Stacklers and doctors who wrote scrips for narcotics to the unsuspecting…they walk free, don’t they?

Talk about guilty.

Yes, they died before their crimes were made widely known... they killed tens of thousands, addicted millions (knowledge we're certain of) and made tens of billions from it.

The Real Cartel.

Did they throw in a LITERALLY too? Vapid.

Well he is not totally wrong.

It's sad people think this way

They don’t know they hold the key 🔑 to their own cage

They CHOSE their cage.

It’s comfy. They have friends there.

Their 'friends' will backstab them the day they utter a wrong word.

Agreed!

I do indeed think Ross broke laws but,

That is 'up to and including ' bullshit.

He served his time.
