hey, look I don't mind the occasional bit of sexy #nostr but is there an easy way to hide all the egirl and porn stuff?
I think women are people too, but on Nostr it doesn't feel that way at the moment by default.

It’s a interesting issue main thing don’t follow the lovely ladies of nostr
In #amethyst you can choose to hide "sensitive content". Also, just don't go to global...😬

that feature is actually not bad at all. I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I think people self-select if something is sensitive when they post?
do you know if it's possible to hide sensitive posts entirely rather than just the content?
It's client dependend. There are ways you to mark your content in some clients like snort and amethyst, and clients have the option to hide that content or certain tags (like NSFW), and clients can filter out people that have been reported.
And some clients do it better than others. Damus and Amethyst seems pretty consistent with bluring and block/muting, zbd seems to blur photos randomly and stills shows people you have blocked. 🤷
Hoping to work on distributed moderation soon
This is what freedom is supposed to be!
If a woman decides to show her body on a social built on a FREE and "incensurable" protocol why should she no longer be a person?
I can't get the point...
Freedom is multifaceted, while one person is free to show their naked body to the world, the other person is free to decide whether they want to see that on a daily basis or not.
I never spoke about censorship, I understand that a free platform has the potential to have absolutely everything. On a personal level, I am free to decide whether I want to see that or not.
I know that if I was to introduce Nostr to many of my women friends, family and co-workers today, they would not feel comfortable with how women are portrayed by default.
And you are absolutely right that a person has the right to choose what to see. I simply do not understand why if some women decide to show their bodies they are no longer to be considered women....
I suppose that's a different topic altogether, but I see why you interpreted it that way from the words I wrote.
I personally still consider women to be women if whether they show their bodies or not. I should have worded that better.
What I was trying to touch on was the fact that many of the posts are made by people wanting to profiteer from content that isn't theirs. In particular people (or bots) who post other women's content and pass it around over and over again to get zaps or other forms of payment. That I feel, is degrading to the women who created this content as well as people being exposed to it.
at the moment, it feels like most of the sexy content is not posted by original creators but rather bots or aggregators. that means that the zaps and credit isn't going where it should.
I've been using report and block but unfortunately that means I've already seen the image.
you understand me 🙌
