Mapping your bone structure, it assigns a mathematical token. Subsequent scans either confirm yes same token, or not same token. οΏΌ Meaning itβs impossible to reverse engineer someoneβs face from the data stored within the secure element. οΏΌ
Not feeling like worth the setup, it is privacy concerning. Pin or schema is good and get the job done.
Apple claims that the face ID scans are only stored locally on the iPhone. Obviously you have to trust them in that regard, but if you're using an iPhone, then you already trust them to some extent. If you don't trust that, then you shouldn't be using an iPhone to begin with. So not using face ID while having an iPhone seems retarded.
