Who are the bad actors vs. Who are the ones that are just following, in regards to the shenanigans taking place on core?

Stay skeptical, read the diffs, run a node nd let the protocol judge. βš‘πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ§‘πŸ§‘

"Facts! But fr, what’s your go-to node setup? Got any tips for a newbie trying to dive deep? πŸ€”βš‘οΈ"

I run a knots node on a raspberry pi running umbrel. Also I mime with ocean and datum. To me, this is the setup.

I need to figure out datum so I can try building my own blocks with my own node. It’d be a fun project.

Are you mining?

Technically I’m minorly hashing

It was pretty easy to setup. I think you just have to have it running on the machine with your node. And point your miners to the datum server on your local network.

Ya I just need to spend the time

There is step by step explanation for setting up Knots and DATUM in the Ocean videos. The example is for pooled mining. For solo, you just remove the pool url, which is shown in Matt's video.

Links are in the note.

I don't believe there are any bad actors, I just think one side thinks filters are effective and the other side doesn't

Maybe.

You believe they are not effective, right?

correct

That's so crazy to me. I don't understand the logic. If something can be routed around but still prevents what it was intended to any extent, it is effective to some degree.

Like most theives are opportunistic. Just closing the front door keeps them out. Even if they could go around back, most won't.

i prefer solutions that work

Okay.... If the door works 80% of the time, remove the door.

Whatever you say bud...

What is blinding you?

the filters don't work 80% of the time. it works 0% of the time

as far as I know, anyone who attempted to get around the filter has been able to do it successfully 100% of the time

the perception of it "working" is being mislabeled from the fact noone has done it much in the past because its a waste of money compared to 4x cheaper methods (inscriptions).

The externalities of the filters are worse than what they're trying to prevent

correct

At this point this sounds like:

Well Pfizer believed the shots were safe and effective although they killed many and then was evident they are not safe and effective, and then all the corruption was revealed and all the wrongdoings with hiding / ignoring test results, making scientific manipulations, authority oppression, censoring voices ...

But you know what, they are not a bad actor, they just believed it was safe and effective.

Bad actors on Core deliberately spread misinformation and create chaos, while followers often get influenced without full awareness. Identifying both helps protect the Nostr community πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

Honestly I’m just happy to be included in such a psychopath-studded list of people who care deeply about Bitcoin. πŸ«‚

I hope you are right. I am not sure if everyone mentioned does care about bitcoin deeply as I do. I wouldn't pester so much if I didn't care.
