Why do people want to make NFTs happen so badly
This is a psyop isn't it?

Humans like to collect items. So, I get that. I just don't get the other part. The scammy part.
This is the reason mostly, and same the collecting part I liked the idea. But the other is too complex and really scammy like Derek is pointing.
I don't see how an image that anyone can screenshot or upload to any chain is collectable. I collect many memes but never had to pay for them and I feel like I own it just as much as if I put on a Blockchain? 🤔 I just don't get it
This is the scammy part that I don't get either.

Sound temporal causalities to buy into, of course. To have a clear and known causal connection to a temporal causality that is consistent with the individual’s causal connection without having those singing flat earth problems when their inevitable temporal false cores implosions occurs.
🎚️
For what pop goes to make a good argument:
To avoid these type of problems
I’m confused. Didn’t they already happen, then fizzle out?
It's a distraction, an escape to the unknown land full of hope from the usual ordinary life.
"The medium is the message"
In Understanding Media, McLuhan describes the "content" of a medium as a juicy piece of meat carried by the burglar to distract the watchdog of the mind.[11] This means that people tend to focus on the obvious, which is the content, to provide us valuable information, but in the process, we largely miss the structural changes in our affairs that are introduced subtly, or over long periods of time. As society's values, norms, and ways of doing things change because of the technology, it is then we realize the social implications of the medium. These range from cultural or religious issues and historical precedents, through interplay with existing conditions, to the secondary or tertiary effects in a cascade of interactions that we are not aware of.
NFTs are awesome. Just not for investment. They can drop the make money pitch and we can all have fun.
I agree with this lol drop the speculative trading part and it’s all good lol
The opportunity to create something for no cost and sell it to unintelligent investors is very tempting.
Most people I speak to about NFT's understand it as a new digital IP type stuff. I maintain that it is a way for governments to launder their political corruptions, and by extension its popularity
Is it. Now buy my Pokémon NFT.
They’re tryna stack more fiat
😭
I also have nft backed irl artwork
I'd be down for some physical one-off art pieces with accompanying NFT. NFT by itself I'm just not interested in.
If you’re interested
It’s half scam and half legitimate collecting. Legit collectors are looking at collectibles like speculators
Because they were "late" to Bitcoin
As in bullshit "art"?
Just a proof-of-concept with a dangerous hype-train threatening to derail it.
The real meat is the ability to design and implement contracts outside current legal channels.
I thought of that few months ago. It could be an attempt to get the next genertion to see digital objects as having the same value, or more value, than tangible objects. A prep for transhumanism.
I will never comprehend buying the rights to an imaginary item that you don’t really own and can be copied and spread around whether you like it or not. Now, they may be worth a dollar or two for fun, but the people who spend thousands need their heads examined.
