the nostr protocol continues to evolve and grow - nostr clients continue to get easier to use and more robust - meanwhile centralized platforms continue to decline

the masses will use nostr eventually - as their current tools fail they will seek out better alternatives

Are we growing though? Feels like shrinking

Kind of feels that way.

have you seen the new eu push to throttle anything they deem “hate speech”? (whose definition is utterly shiftable depending on what the want to place social pressure on to shift the overton window)

nostr use is going to explode

How so?

My timeline seems to have fewer and fewer people, don't have any stats, just how I sense it

Same here. But I’d like to think it’ll build not unlike hodl waves.

then why all of you still have twitter accounts. cancel it or this is just bunch of useless words.

Twitter is where our user base will come from

Bluesky has definitely been getting more attention lately.

And that’s a mixed bag (to put it kindly).

Logged into Facebook yesterday for the first time in nearly a year, to look up a couple friends from school…

“Decline” is a very generous descriptor at this point - it seemed downright irrelevant!

Their marketplace is very good. Mostly due to the liquidity and somewhat minimized trust.

I hope Nostr's interoperability helps with bootwtrapping the liquidity. There's gonna be a point when for every platform the benefits of adopting the interoperable protocol outweighs the benefits of walled garden content andnetworks monopoly. At the point we get Craigslist, we're golden.

Experimentations on minimizing the trust will be up to the clients, and should be much more risk/cost-minikized than with the old model.

Truth…..

I shut down my Twitter account!

It is true that the #nostr protocol and its environment as well as the clients has been strengthened, however I think it is very far from reaching the masses of users. Many of the centralized social networks today offer what most of those people are looking for, playful entertainment, it doesn’t matter if they fail.

I’m not so sure. The masses will always go where it’s easiest and most importantly, where all their favourite publications and celebrities post stuff.

The majority of people aren’t interested in zaps or starting a revolution.

We don't want the masses here. #creamonly

Yaya, I'm only a couple weeks in to nostr by using it more and more.

Will hyper-nostr-ization happen before hyper-bitcoin-ization ???

This is the question

Question: Being pretty new on Nostr, I just struggled telling a friend about a distinct "nostre-post". At first I wanted to name it "nostr-tweet" - aargh.

So how to name it correctly?

I have just started using nostr I don’t use other social media except Twitter for bitcoin community Adoption of any new app / tool is slow and each new use case has to provide its own value Not sure who you mean by the masses? Without perceived value by use case are you saying people will adopt when other tools become obsolete?

What is your preferred client? I am using Coracle and don't quite have it figured out yet.
