who could be behind this mysterious mobile operating system? if only there was a type of source distribution that showed you who was committing code or a website with an about page or a wikipedia article or something

You think this is ridiculous, I understand, but to many this is a serious problem. Symbolism, even if innocent, carries with it implications. Personally, I dismiss the possibility of it having ulterior motives, simply because graphene indeed is a hexagonal lattice. However, nearly every shitcoin's symbol is hexagonal, as is every major corporation's logo, most of which exist only because of masonic and secret agency connections. This is not good company. Regardless of who is making commits, it remains in question who is funding the development. The hexagonal symbol points in a direction that deserves suspicion. Laughing it off, or mocking it may feel like the right response. It is not.
I'm funding development. Aren't you?
Also the source is open so what nefarious thing are they up to, please point to code.
You missed the point
I don't think he did. Even if it were compromised, someone would notice it and have it reversed in a jiffy.
Plenty of open source is compromised. Being open source isn't a panacea. Yes, it CAN be reversed, but which ten lines in 100,000,000 lines of code introduces a vulnerability?
Ok, go use your closed source phone with known unpatched vulnerabilities then. I'll stick with open source software that maybe has bugs that haven't been found.
I didn't miss the point. I just think your point is kinda dumb and shortsighted.
To have some visual symmetry in the logo you can do a triangle, square, but the pentagon visually sucks in most cases, hexagon is next reasonable, heptagon again sucks with alignment, octagon maybe, but now you are essentially a circle shape.
I agree, that's why I give it a pass. I'm explaining the problem with it.
