Nostr has a growing ecosystem of apps and micro-services, but unless you've been around nostr for a while, you may not be aware that these even exist.

nostr:npub1t3ggcd843pnwcu6p4tcsesd02t5jx2aelpvusypu5hk0925nhauqjjl5g4 and I were discussing this earlier and feel that it's up to all of us to help new users discover that nostr is more than just social. It's up to us to help promote these other use cases.

It may be helpful for app and micro-service discovery for larger clients such as Primal, Amethyst, Damus, Snort, Iris, etc. to showcase them in a new area of their client simply called 'App Directory'. This new section of your app would showcase popular services that compliment your client and enhance your user's experience. Coracle already does this. Thanks nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn 💜

For example, maybe you'd include:

Nostr.kiwi for communities

Listr for list management

Highlighter for note taking and highlights

Habla for long from blog writing

Pinstr for list, note, and content management

Zap.stream for live video streams

Nostr Nests for live audio streams

Nostrchat.io for a better chatting experience

Stemstr for music creation and collaboration

Wavlake for music discovery and publishing

and more...

It's up to you to pick which apps you feel complement your client the most.

Maybe even just include https://nostrapps.com or https://nostrapp.link

Thank you!

We have some of this in specific features. For instance, when users request a share link, it comes in on of these partner apps. But we could do more. It's usually a matter of finding good matches for the feature set in the other app.

you could include Pablo's Highlter as part of your app directory, yes.

Yes, and if you run an app, create a listing and get people to recommend it

🤙🏼

Wait, I just realized you didn't mention NIP 89, that is the way to do this ideally: https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/89.md

yeah, ideally this wouldn't even require any education from users or clients; it should be organic.

it would just require:

* users using nostr in non-twitter-like ways (currently already happening)

* twitter-like clients showing this activity (currently NOT happening)

that was my point on my article https://dev.highlighter.com/a/naddr1qqgrxwrfw5m8garwdvm85aenwajxgq3ql2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqxpqqqp65wxtanuc

You're right, this would be the best way to handle this. The problem is discovery. More users need to know that this can be done and those recommendations need to be brought forward better. Amethyst shows the recommendations on user profiles. But, if no one knows that they should or could do this, then it won't ever happen at scale. Maybe all apps need to start implementing a "like what you see, click here to recommend this app on nostr"?

Yes, absolutely agree

https://nostrapp.link/ implements NIP-89

definitely drop your favorite (or launched) apps on https://nostrapp.link/

its not curated, and implementa NIP-89 for listing apps... so thats where Im dropping mine!

Agreed! This would be hugely helpful to everyone 👍🏻

Can nostr integrate with fountain.fm or any other podcasting tools yet?

I wish i could save this specific note. This has a lot of info I'd like to refer to later. Learning takes a lot of brain cells, energy & time!

Thank you for posting this!
