You. Can. Opt. Out.

You. Can. Opt. Out.
How do you opt out of this? I was in the normal security line when I last traveled and they took a picture/scan
Before you approach, say “I’ll be opting out” calmly, but confidently. They’ll visually compare your face to your ID. Done.
Oooo interesting.
In US TSA you just calmly ask the officer for an alternative screening method, i.e., a human to check your ID. They then probably explain the Official Story that is on the signs, about not storing your picture etc. You confirm you understand and you still want an alternative method.
No.. they can’t. It’s another of those proof of work things. The work hasn’t been put in yet. The line is the proof.
Who can’t do what?
Those in line can’t opt out. Can’t act on knowledge you don’t have.
Incorrect. They can, just as I did. Your response removes entirely the individual’s responsibility and agency. As a Bitcoiner, you must surely know and expect better.
That’s the work part.. until they put it in, they can’t. Should, sure. But haven’t. So.. they stand in line. They accept the stays quo. As a bitcoiner, this a surely how it should be understood. What am I missing? How is this incorrect?
If you don’t believe it or don’t get it, I don’t have the time to try to convince you, sorry.”

No worries, I have time. Fairly certain there’s a simple misunderstanding or we disagree on something fundamental. The fundamental disagreement seems unlikely.
I’ll try again.. the folks standing in the line you mentioned.. they’ve yet to realize there’s another way. They lack the information needed to “opt out” hell, they don’t even know there’s even an opting out option. When they become aware of an alternative, then they can choose to educate themselves on that alternative. Once educated, when the work has been put in (much as you did, I’m sure. I know I had to) then they can opt out.
Until then, they’ll continue standing in line unable to opt out.

how can you opt out of flying?
I wonder for how much longer it will be optional, or if at some point it’s, “submit or don’t fly.”
Time to get that pilot license.
That is always the question.
oh yee
I ran into this a couple weeks ago for the first time. I asked the TSA agent if I was required to scan my face.
She scoffed and told me how to put my face in the scanner.
How do you opt out of the TSA facial biometric harvest?
This is not to defend the government or support any disgusting measure like facial recognition to control the masses but maybe the way to opt out here is more complicated. The only reason why they can use the tech for facial recognition to compare you with your passport picture is because your face was already scanned when you applied for the passport. The biometrics of your face are already in the database that those machines are using. You could argue that you are training the recognition system, but it is already being trained with other cameras.
If you really wished to opt out you would need to wear some type of mask all of the time (I am not suggesting to do that) and you should travel only by car, train and ship.
If you go at the passport control with a police officer there is a camera there as well, collecting your biometrics in the exact same way. The only real difference is that the officer might ask you additional unpleasant questions.
Awe…. Oh well now that you put it that way - that doesn’t sound so bad at all. But yeah, you’re not pro facial recognition. Yah, that’s the ticket! 🤦🏿
It is very bad. In my humble opinion the only thing you can fight all of this is civil disobedience, set up your life in a way you do not have to pay taxes legally. Go to the country that treats you best, educate everyone you have a good relationship with to do the same and to use methods of exchange of goods and services that cut the government out. Depower the state. Avoiding the machine that scans your face when you are travelling is virtue signaling at best, because of the reasons I mentioned earlier.
Yes we must stay non-violent and express our disagreement thru the frown's on our faces AND if that fails we must leave everything - our homes and the country we love. It’s all we can do! I too cannot think of anything else! Oh and we can also avoid it while it’s still not required. Thats why im thinking about voting for billionaire grump, cuz he’ll just institute it and complain when the next guy mandates it. .
I understand you are American, I also understand you are using sarcasm to somehow disagree with me. Which I think is worse then accepting reality and finding a way around problems. You seem to imply with your comments that you have a better way then mine to solve the troubles that governments worldwide are putting us through. Can you please elaborate what is your suggestion as to how we can free ourselves from the dystopian reality that is forming around us? I am open to change and improvement. If you also really cannot think of anything else, sarcasm and free advertisement of Trump will not help you, your country or anyone else.

so this is becoming the standard in the US? no more passport? no more tickets?
Haven’t flies for years. Wtf?
