Damus is a client, Nostr is the protocol. Clients can build whatever they want on the protocol.

it is hairsplitting. when another coin like monero and litecoin get integrated in nostr, it will have to be integrated into all clients. that was the point.

Seems like posting a static tip address (for monero) in profile is fine since that doesn’t hurt privacy, without LN speed you can’t tip a post with a tap very effectively.
