I think about Jordan Peterson demonizing pseudo/anonymous accounts as “troll demons.” It would seem the real demons are the algorithmic feeds that keep the controversy in front of our eyes.
And shame about Peterson. He seems to have allowed himself to be consumed by these demons and has become mostly reactive

I've been thinking about that. I think he got a point in a deep sence. Saying things using your real name forces you to do hard things to be able to stand your ground, like having a redundant income stream, think carefully about waht you say and articulate it properly, etc...
There is the case for people that can't afford to do that in a real sense, like life or death situation, the line is diffuse here.
Also is understandable from a perspective of a public figure that is exposed to trolls 24/7/365.

The good part is that as you mention, algorithms are something that you don't need toworry about here. Also there is the posibility to have relays that are KYC only or pay-to-interact (post, reply, etc) wich will keep most of the spam at bay. Free market and voluntary choice will tell if that is something desirable or not🤔🧉
Agreed, it's useful as a divide and conquer tactic. Because when we aren't fighting we can cooperate and that's very dangerous for power structures that rely on keeping people focused on what separates them to maintain control.

What is a “Troll”? Is it “starting drama” to be a dissident? A real one, I mean.
You new to the internet? 😂 It’s basically someone who provokes emotional reactions for their own amusement. Their comments are not meant to create or add to a productive conversation. They’re often inflammatory/manipulative/insincere. They don’t necessarily even believe what they’re saying. They just say it to get a negative reaction out of people because they find that amusing.
Your description is not what a troll is commonly described as in the media. It seems to conflate with 'right-wingers'.

On Twitter even if I don’t follow a person or engage in a conversation/thread it will show up in my feed because someone else I follow is engaging with them. I’ve muted people and threads in Twitter and still had them show up at the top of my feed every time someone I follow replies. And it’s not just the reply, but Twitter will still show the original tweet with it even though I’ve muted it. And because Twitter shows me “what I’ve missed” even if I close the app for a while it shoves it back in my face when open it again. Here I can unfollow or mute the person and I never see their posts. I may see replies from people I follow if I’m looking at the replies tab when they happen but otherwise I don’t see the conversation.
