There’s so many things to learn! This is all so fascinating to me. The more I see, the more I want to learn then put into practice!

If you get into seed saving. I politely suggest Joseph Lofthouse’s book landrace gardening. I found it to be much more approachable than most.

Thank you!! I will check it out for sure. Thanks for steering me in the right direction. I know some of the basics but want to know the do’s and don’ts of it all! 😊

There is also these if you want to go down the rabbit hole.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate this guidance! 😊

Downloaded, definitely will have a look at it. Thank you 🙏

Do you ferment them in water for a few days to release the seeds from the pulp?

I do. Usually it takes 5 to 7 days. When the seeds drop to the bottom and I don’t see much “gel” around them They are ready. But I have had no problem with germination even if I’m too early. Makes me really wonder if the fermentation is even necessary.

I find that it is a little easier and cleaner picking. Never considered that it may give them a possible germination boost.

Definitely makes it easier separating seed. I always thought there was some kind of inhibitor in the gel sac. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Seems that is legitimate. Looks like there was a fairly recent (2020) study using a weak acid soak for a short amount of time (30-60min) to simulate the fermentation process with a high degree of success.
