A huge advantage is that your local AI isn't censored 👍
Lots of censorship on gpt. Had midjourney previously. Was censored too but that thing was beautiful. I have yet to see another ai as beautiful
There are midjourney addons for Flux on civitai 👍

I run some small text models on similar hardware, but I've never tried image gen.
Other option is Mac mini m1. Most probably faster but it’s the daily driver
