Hypothetically if two people both have access to the keys they could race to get into a block with competing high fees so before the owner of the wallet tries to double spend with a higher fee the thief front runs with a higher fee to ensure it gets confirmed first?
Actually yea... That makes sense. If that's happening then the only out for the owner is to spend the entire stack on a fee and get with a miner directly and hope they're nice enough to send you some funds and recover.
