I would argue that algorithms follow the old adage "good servant, bad master." Currently, bootstrapping your feed to contain more posts you would like to see is... quite hard, I would say. While we don't necessarily need a tag cloud, having some ways to easily discover who to follow (who may or may not be on this platform) is quite tedious. You can haphazardly browse keywords, but having the ability to actually see what's out there would be nice.

Ah, I misunderstood.

I was thinking the purpose was to gather tags to drop on posts. Like, for people to discover you.

We could use a small subset of recomended tags. #asknostr and #grownostr are the best I've used.

asknostr to ask for tags to follow relavant to interests, and grownostr to find tags on posts I like.

Of course, there are community solutions aside from tags, like channels, but I haven't found as much activity there.

Also, just searching common tags from other platforms should work.
