So, I'm still sifting through my options, but does anyone know of any solid OpenWRT compatible mesh routers?

We are building a mesh network on OpenWRT routers that run TollGates.

Currently testing against GLAR300m, but we plan to support other routers soon. We are likely to target GLMT3000 and GLMT6000.

Some notes about TollGate:

Do you use this also along with it?

We are currently using OpenNDS, but openwisp is an option we wanted to explore since a while.

Our new architecture is quite modular thanks to nostr. A nostr client called the "valve" manages network access on the device and a user facing nostr client creates events that the valve consumes.

Insights into openwisp and radius server would be much appreciated.

I've only used x86 machines and pfsense or ubiquity equipment. I use the unify AP minis at the moment, and I don't really even use wifi. I prefer running cables, and mounting more APs and using MoCA to get wired connections to more remote locations.
