Amazing, any recommendations you would make for touring Japan outside of Tokyo?

Following this thread!

Loads of recommendations. Depends the time frame and how off the beaten path youwant to get. Highly recommend going to an onsen (hot spring) town.

Also as a foreigner you can get a JR Rail Pass which gets you access to most of the country by train.

Good to know, I will be out there in a couple of months for Nostrasia. I'm currently debating whether I want to visit another country in Asia after the conference or if I should spend an extra week exploring the rest of Japan.

I’d vote Japan. Kyoto and Hiroshima are def worth a visit (Miyajima island in front of Hiroshima if you have the time). Nara for the deer and Buddha statue. Osaka to see another big city outside Tokyo. Kobe can be nice. Yokohama for the aquarium. Some onsen town at the foot of mt Fuji. Heck, seeing all of Tokyo in a week can be challenging!

Thanks for the advice!

Japan is a special place. Asia has some awesome countries though. Vietnam is one of my favorites.
