There is a 6-month decline of use here on #Nostr. We can do better. I care about this thing more than I should. I feel like Nostr is a crappy boyfriend—and I'm making excuses for him, like, "He's got so much potential!" So I keep staying. 🙄

We will get through this dark time of spam & low use. Nostr is strong enough to survive, if only for the 15,745 of us using it each day. But my fella can do so much better...

I just jumped back into legacy media journalism. There is no NEED for us to use Nostr today. But we're always one step away from the next "black swan" that would make this indispensible. Right now? This is trash to the vast majority. Too clunky to explain, too technical, too nerdy, too much #Bitcoin, too many wackadoos...it's just "too much."

But for those of us here daily, building, creating, and putting in the reps, there's another story.

We didn't build that on Twitter/X. Or LinkedIn. It was the rabid fans of Nostr who helped us create Nostr's 1st #Bitcoin Mining #BlockParty.

What about local meetups? I will maintain that something *special* is happning here and I won't give up. But I won't stick my head in the sand and act like there aren't issues for us to tackle. We all have to do our part to make this better. Many of you work so hard at this and you know who you are. 🫡
