Can't really enforce how clients present data. If you don't want people to see your zaps don't send zap recipients
The client canāt make it optional? Iād gladly pay to have the choice.
Sure, you can turn it off, but you can't stop other people, which is what the post is asking for.
This is šÆ correct. The zap event can be displayed by any client, there are a few on the web (and plebstr) where you can tap to view who they were and how much, etc.
It would affect your feed only.
For Damus, thegreatest zap is now displayed at the top of threads. My question was, could Damus make this optional so that other clients donāt see this event displayed at the top of a thread.
Turning off zap comments, so that companies and politicians canāt post links in zap comments would be nice too.

The events have always been there. Damus is just rendering them.
They donāt appear in plebstr.
Tbf this needs a toggle. Iām not going to use a client where thereās dozens of ads attached to high profile posts. But, thatās why they call it test flight.

It's just displaying/sorting events differently. You can't stop people from displaying data on nostr however they like.
Oh, Okay. Iām asking for optional sorting of the data, so that I can sort it the way I want, not to stop someone from sending it.
Makes sense for it to be an option: "sell out my comment section" š¤Ŗ
Imagine irrelevent content zapped to the first couple comments and all your friends having to scroll through that unwillingly. This will hurt engagement. Needs to be an option. Or a slider e.g. show comment op top when zap>1000 sats. š¤ What do you think?
