Every time I use lightning I’m shocked at how fast it is.
Gets faster as more nodes jump on too. Unlike most systems where the slowest node is the bottleneck, in lightning, the fastest set of nodes in a path is the bottleneck.

A large portion of Jack's business model is to utilize the Lightning network. Building a business around a technology you don't use would be a recipe for failure. Strike seems to be growing and expanding 🚀 so I think Jack's usage of Lightning speaks for itself.
Anyways, this is why Nostr and Zaps are so damn important for Lightning. Many Nocoiners/ Bitcoiners still actually haven't used Lightning or even used it in a reasonable manner. Zaps allow us to use Lightning hundreds of times per day. (And on certain occasions like trying to hit the 1 Millionth Zap mark, thousands per day 🤣)
Zaps are a fun and frictionless introduction to Lightning. Keep Zapping.

Zapity zap. Today we use it to trade trinkets and to communicate value but we're always on the lookout for that beautiful symbol of convenience AND freedom. I need to go to more places where this is the primary currency.

Not a bad thread when it comes to the centralisation part. Doing ligthning non custodial is hard. Using a centralised service makes it easy and convenient, but it feels completely wrong as it goes against core Bitcoin principles.
I feel I can’t onboard (non technical) people to lightning with good conscience knowing it’s to hard for them. Alternatively using a service like Wallet of Satoshi is even worse. Not your keys, nor your coins. It’s not Bitcoin, but an iou. And centralised custodians usually end up getting people rekt. Plus privacy concerns.
Every balance of a custodial wallet should be ecash. Cashu or Fedimint. If you’re not holding your keys, let’s at least offer privacy.
