The US service economy is about to be in for an extremely rude awakening.

AI is going to make manual labor cool again.

1. AI kills white-collar middle managers

2. They learn to work with their hands and become farmers, artisans, etc

3. Activate hyperlocal Bitcoin circular economy

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.

Sounds like something a #permie would say… grins

😁

Yup! I save in Bitcoin, invest in skills, tools and productive animal management systems. 🔨🪚🐷

More likely: massive popular revolt against AI once the job losses start rolling in. The unrest to come will far exceed the labor movements and protests of the Industrial Revolution. It's going to get pretty messy.

More likely “ai” responds to questions and gives answers if it’s allowed to be politically correct from the Marxist whitelist of topics

Yes…popular revolt…

Haha.

Agree. Though, maybe we will successfully stop before that. As Max Tegmark pointed out on the Lex Fridman, we were able to stop human cloning. Stopping human-like AI will be harder, but maybe we can successfully stop it too.

Yeah. Haha. Quite a few people have invoked Frank Herbert’s Dune, in conversations with me about this.

AI got us full circle. Something tells me millennials will not be happy about this!

Will a LLM take away my well paid remote programming job while professional sink uncloggers will rule the world and make all the money?

Yep that’s how I’m thinking about it.

Interesting persective. For one I don’t see how AI could make manual labor cool. I know there will alwahs be those who like to do things with their own hands. But I suspect there are way more who either don’t have the. Skill or just like seeing cool gadgets do the work.

The current rent-seekers will be more than happy to channel the mob's fury at this tropic.

This will keep them from understanding they were drained by the money printing.

Someone will still need to fix The Machines so I'm probably safe for a few more months.
