Planning on taking an academic break from university. Don’t feel fulfilled or happy. Time to switch things around and not stay stagnant. 💜🐸

I'm gonna push through my last two semesters but very relatable. Most of time university feels like tedious busywork

Find your happiness buddy 🫂. This summer I'm working on a nostr project if you wanna become a dev, we can learn together

I am a complete beginner, but I’d absolutely love to learn and help you out any way I can 🫂💜

Lfgooo! One of the best forms of learning is to teach, so for sure! Getting a basic handle on things + chatGPT -> we'll be learning a lot

Love this. Feel free to reach out if you guys get stuck or just wanna ask some questions. 🤙 I was signed up for two courses this past semester, but dropped one to dedicate that time to learning how to build on Nostr instead. Happy to share what I’ve learned.

Thanks 🤙 Any suggested learning paths? I'm not new to programming by any means, but my background is mainly in data analysis. Currently signed up to the full stack scrimba course which has been pretty helpful, but am looking for other paths that are a bit faster paced.

Nice. When you think of the things you wanna make on Nostr are they primarily web apps, native apps, backend relays? Sounds like probably web apps…

For now, the base case will be a webapp. Specialized relays might be down the way for more permanent notes, but I just care to have something up and working right now

Which technologies have you decided to learn? I’m using React because that’s what I use professionally. So my Nostr work improves my professional work and vice versa.

If you’re brushing up on JavaScript, I’ve taken one of Andrew Mead’s Udemy courses and liked his teaching style, so I’m betting his modern JavaScript course is good. If you’re going to use React I’d suggest learning Next JS with Vercel or Netlify for hosting. These both make it easy to connect your domain name and deploy your site to the web from GitHub. They will automatically handle things like SSL for you to secure traffic to and from your site. And I’m pretty sure they both offer free plans to get you started.

Hey just wanted to say thanks for the advice ! In about 2 weeks I'll have a bunch of time cleared up to really start learning so you'll probably see me reaching out more 😅🫂

Happy to help 🤙🫂

Good for you planet.

I was forced to take an academic break at one point for a year or so. It wasn’t optional (due to finances). It was good. It made me hungry.

LFG!

Rest is necessary to RE-focus. Go for it!

Bold choices and change can lead to great things! 💜

So true! 💜

Proud of you! 💜🫂 follow your heart my friend ❤️

What’s the thing you’re running towards instead?
