I'm fine with pronouns I assign to individuals or groups.

But I generally ignore title requests unless it's funny and memorable. I don't honor preferred pronouns that go against my standards as I'm the one making the expression, not them.

The way I see it, is if there is a possibility for either party to feel uncomfortable using or not using a new form of pronoun that doesn't align to biology or the historic norm of humanity, the person introducing the deviation should have to feel uncomfortable, in that situation.

So I often put myself in their place, and if someone calls me a 'she or her' by accident, I would politely correct them and say, "actually I am a 'he'". If they continue to call me a she, I would ignore, or if intentional, think they are an asshole and move on with my life..

I’m fine with referring to trans men as β€œhe” and trans women as β€œshe,” especially if their proper names or appearances provide cues. I’m not happy with invented pronouns, because then I would have to keep a table in my head and remember to refer to it while I’m figuring out what to say in a conversation.

(This may be the first thing I’ve written on Nostr that would have gotten my account suspended on Twitter.)

Do you not have pronouns? Wish no one had any? Or do you just miss the old days of guessing everyone else's based on appearances?

Just not use them at all.

There is just one (non-genedered) third person singular pronoun in my language. Avoids all the drama around them to begin with.

Same in Chinese πŸ’œ

they can be life validating for many, myself included. you are not alone in your suggestion though. please try to remember a minor inconvenience for you can be life-saving and validating for others πŸ’œ

i appreciate the woke group and i understand the need to feel respected. i frankly could not be bothered saying she/her because i don't have time. But, discrimination is real and it comes in all forms, its brutal and it hurts people and the idea is to be bold enough to say who you are or the circumstances you are in and what you stand for. It took me a long time to understand this and not be bothered by how i am judged. In my country, by constitution, minorities do not have access to most economic opportunities. When i spoke abt this, I got a lot of setbacks. Most funds in the hundreds of thousands or millions, expects you to have it somehow, spend it first and claim. I spoke about mid-income discrimination and i got a lot of setbacks. Recently there was a raid on rainbow swatches because the far rights who are moral police felt insulted. It is a crime to be homosexuals in my country and you will be canned, imprisoned and fined. some shariah states imposes public canning and public shaming.

Some of my gay friends are badass fashionistas, they get me looking fine everytime - if they wanna wear heels or lipstick, go right ahead. The last thing i would want for them is to be in prison for what they stand for or who they love. We don't have enough woke people globally. pronouns are just a form of campaign and branding to get the message across.

I do have a tough time these days figuring out which group I'm offending - the extreme woke or the extreme conservatives. Both the extremes are equally exhausting

Not offended by wokeism, more like annoyed.

No hate for anyone.

well said πŸ«‚πŸ’œ
