Honest question. Does anyone on nostr check their dm's? Or is it just an issue of not adding enough inbox relays for messages? There are tons of really cool people on here I would like to connect with, however it seems like they don't check messages. Anyone know why? #asknostr #grownostr

Sure do. I've used dming before and it worked. Haven't tried in a long time.
There are a couple different dm implementations. An old, not-so-good spec is slowly being replaced with a better one, so not everything works together at the moment. But it's getting better. Look for a NIP-17 supporting client & inbox relay (just 1 or 2) Encourage your friends to do the same, or ask the devs of your favorite client to add nip17 dm support.😊
There are a lot of people who just don't use dms though.
Thanks for the help!! Ok I will start looking more into that. That makes sense. My goal would immediately be to switch to simplex if theyre up to it. Much better privacy.
I do but the issue is that theres multiple DM standards, some secure, some not. I only DM securely and those are not always received when their clients don't support it. Especially since there are multiple competing standards. The other factor may be that they got to much spam in their DM's.
