One last #asknostr wallet question for today - I didn’t know I had to set up my wallet again after the Damus update. So I haven’t had a wallet connected to Damus for about 2 days, which is the only Nostr client I used.
I’ve gotten notifications that I’ve received zaps today, so my question is: what happened to those sats? Will they be returned to the folks who sent them?
Even though you don’t have your wallet set up to zap in Damus, your profile still has a receive wallet set-up to your primal address. You should still be receiving zaps there.
I just set that wallet up and it does receive zaps.
I’m asking about zaps that I got notifications about from Damus before i set up the Primal wallet.
What was the receive wallet that you had set up previously? Have you checked that?
Some relays cache old profile data so if your wallet changes were recent then some zaps could have still gone to your previous lightning address.
The previous wallet was ZBD because the sats I zap come from games I play.
Yes, I checked that this morning when I got the Damus notification of a 5 digit zap, didn’t see the zap in my wallet, and that sent me on this journey to find a new wallet.

This is the screenshot I did of the notification: “21k sats from Seth” - I think it was related to the Zap Cooking newsletter that went out this morning because I wrote I microfiction story for it. There were a few other zaps, but that was the one that I screenshot.
If it doesn’t come to me, would it revert back to the sender? I wouldn’t want them to loose sats because of my wallet situation.
Yes if it didn’t go to one of your wallets then it should fail. I’d reach out to Seth to confirm. He should be able to check the invoice.
I think Seth’s answer will be that he zapped the 21k to Simply Sarah’s note about the Zap Cooking newsletter, not me specifically.
I was tagged in Sarah’s note, so I guess that’s why I got the Damus notification. I saw the wording of “You received…” and assumed it was zapped to my wallet.
I just got another Damus zap notification, it wasn’t in my Primal wallet, but looking at the Primal notifications, that recent zap went to Simply Sarah’s newsletter note, and if I look at that note in Primal, I see Seth’s 21k.
Ah got it… that may be an issue with how Damus notifies people tagged on a note about a zap. Tagging nostr:npub1zafcms4xya5ap9zr7xxr0jlrtrattwlesytn2s42030lzu0dwlzqpd26k5 here to see if this is the case.
Well, I thought it worked. I just got this notification from Damus and do not see those sats in my Primal wallet.😕

ZBD because the sats I zap come from games I play. It worked great when Damus had a wallet selector.
Now my choices are 1) Alby, which I don’t want to use because the current version is going away leaving the options of DIY (which I’m not tech enough to handle) or pay them monthly for them to handle the tech, which is also not an option for me.
Or 2) NWC wallet for iOS. There’s one suggestion I haven’t looked into yet (lnwallet app), but if you know of another, not technical/don’t have to host my own node/channels wallet I can connect to Damus, please let me know.
I’ve set up a Primal wallet to use with Primal, but it has and has not gotten zaps, which I don’t know what to do about.

we still have a wallet selector. you have to turn it on in options
Yes, I found the wallet selector under Settings/Zaps.
Even if I have that wallet selector option turned on, if I tap my profile image, the top level nav of “Wallet” only shows me the Alby or NWC connection options.
Why are there 2 places to set up a wallet in Damus iOS?
