If religions taken to their doctrinal ends are incompatible on the individual level how do we coexist? This question scares me and seems important.

Not possible.

It breaks my heart.

This question could be understood multiple different ways. At the macro level or within the church?

How are they incompatible?

Explain to me how we can’t coexist first.

Jews believe they're God's chosen people, Christians believe they follow the one true Savior and Muslims believe anyone who doesn't praise Alla is not Halal and must be destroyed as herecy. All those people are fighting for the same land and resources.

Those things are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

Tell that to Hamas and Israel

I follow the Gita and it's pretty easy to extrapolate how it's teachings of individual freedom and adherance to one's nature lead to a highly functioning coexistence in a society.

Ahh the Gita

I pegged you as a tao guy. Gita by interest or culture?

I'm Hindu and grew up studying the Gita and other Vedanta for children at Sunday school. But the Gita and Upanishads are the most important to me.

Compatible belief system aren’t a prerequisite for cooperation and compatible lives. We can love each other without believing the same doctrines. Otherwise it just ends up a war of all against all.

For me, i don't believe that any "Human form" is the manifestation of God. That means, Jesus ain't the son of God, Muhammad ain't the prophet of Allah etc. As those are the 2 major World religions, therin, lies the problem, they both can't be true. Neither can any of the other multitude of them. Apart from bankers, religion causes most of the shit in this World, due to "Incompatibilities", i think it's important to find your individual spiritual niche in this life. If that means following one of the major religions, I have no issue with this, none of them are for me, though.
