If you can afford the fees.
If you can't afford the fees now, you won't be able to later.
People got comfortable because they weren't around in 2017.
True but I am finding I can use lightning more and more now. High fees were inevitable but Ordinals made it happen sooner
And yet many continue to make small transactions on chain for totally outrageous fees? I must wonder which tools default to allow such misuse and who is using them?

Indeed. Good for the miners I suppose, but I find it depressing to see this. And it happens a lot. It can't be good for adoption to allow/encourage such inefficient use of the most powerful network on the planet. 😟
It's honestly a travesty considering @mempool has such good fee selection and a free API.
