My wife’s phone completely died after 2 years, like new, iPhone 12, didn’t drop it or water, nothing.. Apple said it was completely dead.. I took it apart to jiggle the wires, noting… scrap.. 
Do we really need a new phone every year? Just call the thing iPhone, I mean how long they gonna go with the numbers? 😂

Sometimes with a new battery. Usually ESD damage you can’t see. If lightning port is having issues it’s fucked. There’s maybe a few repair options at that point, involves shit I don’t know how to do.
