I still believe that the no brainier easiest group to onboard to Nostr is Bitcoiners. If they understand decentralized money they should understand decentralized communication.

That actually don’t understand Bitcoin at all, happy to believe every rumour about Qatar buying Bitcoin
But things like Bitcoin, self custody, 21m hard cap, transactions, #nostr encompass all of Bitcoin
But Bitcoiners such as those hate Bitcoin adoption and integration… see the sell off when the SBR was announced, podcasters and conference guys hate adoption, or don’t like it when people adopt it
Which in turn turns a lot of new people away due to incorrect news, odd expectations or BREAKING NEWS Dennis Porter style/Max Keiser that does reputational damage
I like Max keiser.....may be a lone one, but I do really like his style.
Have we considered other groups? Moonshiners, Gun Shops, writers, journalists, freedom loving fuck you fight me motherfuckers?

Actually the low hanging fruits are Monero users. They are cypherpunks, privacy activists and they understand the rules of the game much better than average Bitcoiners.
Monero people are often earliest Bitcoiners 2009-2012. So they are naturally ahead of the curve.
Stats also show that the fastest growing group of active Nostr users are Monero Bros. If you like it or not.
Monero is a project that is built on Bitcoin research. RetoSwap is a project that hasbeen built on Bisq tech but perfected it.
Monero people are not shy taking the good stuff from Bitcon and improving on it in terms of anonymity, privacy, decentralisation (p2p mining) and permissionless censorship resistance.
From what I can tell Nostr is generally regarded as a Bitcoin sect, just as Presbyterianism is regarded as a Christian sect or the Tantric School is regarded as a Buddhist sect.
You've got those popular X Bitcoiners who see Nostr as heretical for various reasons, such as being largely grant funded, not being sufficiently decentralised in practice, having very little in common with Bitcoin at an architectural level and so on (i.e. there's no justification for awarding Nostr the title of "Bitcoin of social protocols"; it's as baseless as awarding Nostr the title of "Coca-Cola of social protocols"). And you've got a lot of Bitcoiners who don't know about Nostr but if they did might not want to be associated with it, again down to the whole 'sect' vibe.
Generally once you're perceived as a sect then it becomes hard to recruit from the wider religious community and your best bet might be to recruit from outside.

Sure some big name grifters have a better time scamming their followers on twitter but most of the cryptobros and Devs working on Bitcoin related projects seem to already be here
