Primal Wallet KYC info is connected to the npub. We don’t share this info, per our privacy policy, but the connection exists.

Users who want to ensure that their privacy is preserved should not use KYC-based wallets. Within Primal, you can do so by using NWC to connect to your Mutiny Wallet. This is only available on Primal for Android atm.

Sure; these things need to be understood.

Thanks for bringing it up!

Primal is known as an easy onboarding experience for nostr. To have default KYC info collection that “isn’t shared” and *can* be bypassed, but only for one wallet option and only android, is pretty fucked up

When a Primal Wallet user buys prepaid zaps from either Apple's or Google's store, what information is then gathered and how is that linked to the wallet or npub?

No further information is gathered at the time of in app purchase.

Thank you for the clarification.

You are welcome!

Are you harvesting? Looks like it

Please remove the NWC option.

If we just deposit sats into the primal wallet, is there any link?

If you activated Primal Wallet, the link exists.

Is there a way I can just use alby on iOS?

Can you please provide an option to de-link npubs from wallets, and/or delete the wallet?

I would appreciate that, sure others would as well!

is there any reason why you don't allow the user to choose to use a different wallet without NWC? so when you zap it just deep links into another wallet like most nostr clients do. the main reason i don't use the Primal mobile app is because this option is missing.

thats why i uninstalled tbh

And then there's pleb like me..

Don't like Primal coz the vibe don't match 😂

Feels something disturbing the #force

No reason other than not wanting to implement and maintain additional wallet connection logic. NWC seems like a good standard; I am sure more wallets will support it over time.

deep linking is simpler than NWC though. only maintenance required is adding new wallets, but that doesn't happen often. i don't think any wallets would change their deep link cause that would break things for everyone. you can just copy pasta this if you're using swift for iOS.

Any ETA on connecting to Mutiny with Primal for iOS?

This is a restriction on Apple's side. We had NWC support on iOS in testflight, but had to remove it to get app store approval.

Oooof.

There are a lot of hoops we need to jump through to make nostr accessible to the masses, especially if we want to include zapping. Not fun, but it has to be done imho, if we want to have a chance to grow nostr.

I know how to grow Nostr but all you people keep ignoring me.

If an iOS user changes their wallet on primal .net, will it change in iOS?

Not sure what you mean by "changes their wallet on primal .net". We don't offer Primal Wallet through a web interface yet. Do you mean change the browser extension you are using with the web app? That shouldn't affect anything on iOS.

I dont care about ensuring my privacy, heres my birth certificate, home address, and my pin number, come over sometime

the comments section is a bit disheartening how many people even in this space dont understand the tradeoffs of ease of use.

the work of setting up your own infrastructure and using clients that have prioritized users' ability to use that infrastructure is more difficult up front but better and less stressful in the long run as you are farther removed from this kyc creep.

Which KYC information was necessary to get the primal wallet? I can’t remember anymore, but was it not just an email?

We ask for name, email, country and date of birth. That's the minimum amount of info we need to provide a custodial wallet service legally.

I never entered those but I have APK version. Is that différent ?

Does this mean we need to pay 45% taxes now on every tx?

I'm starting to consider everyone with a PFP like this a FED, I don't like Primal KYC requirements to setup a wallet because we are here to leave the KYC system I suppose but most people on Bitcoin don't care about privacy, on-boarding people on #Amethyst is the right way. It's harder, yes but it's better.

Yeah, I'm using Strike lightning address directly via Damus 🙃

Once the connection is made and then replaced by using NWC...is there still a history of the connection?

is there any verification of the information gathered? it seemed quite light to me.
