WhT do you think are life’s deepest questions?
What happens when we die?
Also,
Why are we here?
What am I supposed to do while I’m here?
We are here to retain data,
the “best” parts of it.
The word “best” is subjective, but I’d imagine i mean that we should be retaining data that is:
-ineffable, but flexible
-projects “beauty” through balance
-efficient and simple at its core, but complex in the stories it tells
So.. based off my theory above your job would be to obtain information through experience, evolve it through thought, and share it through having kids (genetic data) or through demonstration
The actual experience of dying is probably different based on how you lived your life
After death, you lose your memory unfortunately (or fortunately) and physically transform to a new state
You, and your story live on in a different version of yourself, either genetically, or an unrelated person with different experiences and memories, but same patterns
Nah
Don’t worry, dying can last for eternity and be that person’s hell
Anyways… your turn
I had a near death experience when I was 21. I actually lost all fear of death. I am looking forward to see the other side one day.
You still didn’t describe the experience of after death?
Honestly I think a peaceful dreamless sleep sounds pretty nice
I never died. But I fully accepted I was going to die on a hospital bed. I lost all fear and actually felt euphoric. I think thats actually the feeling what’s on the other side. I think our soul also leaves our body when we die into another dimensions (heavenly realms).
Ok so weird story, last night I died in my dream, and it was totally euphoric… oddly. My brain just took me back to what I was doing before the death sequence and continued that story line.
I didn’t die in real life, as they say you should… or did I 🤔💭🧐
Dreams are more real than you imagine.
To me yea
But to any one else, not so much
It’s for the best
A yoga teacher once said to our class, there is no difference between being awake, sleeping or being dead. 🙃
It's easy for us to recognize that the dream is a dream... That is, when we "wake up" from the dream we realize that it was only a dream . Ie, Sasha realized she was still alive!
It's less easy to see the waking state as a dream.
Just as the dream state is malleable when we realize it's a dream (such as in lucid dreaming), the awake state is also malleable.... if we direct our minds in a focused direction.
I like when bitcoiners say that they memed Bitcoin into existence. Of course there was the creator satoshi, but the push of energy behind this is helping to bring it to fruition (along with the countless army of devs and builders who believe in this dream). Karma...action has consequences.
An understanding of death in terms of the traditional yogi definitions requires a level of awareness that I have yet to reach. But conceptually, I agree with the idea.

What an incredible idea to share, thank you 🙏
To expand on this, my thoughts are that awake “dreaming” (dreaming = reality in this thought experiment, there’s no difference) must be reconciled against other’s “dreams” when you are awake. Thus awake “dreaming” requires much more focus to remove the tension.
I am just beginning my yoga journey and can’t wait to explore more. ✨
I believe your thought process is correct. It's fun to try to practice in the dream state... Lucid dreaming. I'm still learning this.
Lucid dreaming will inform your "awake"/ not sleeping state. I have friends who will say to themselves every 15 minutes "this is a dream". The idea is to program your consciousness.
Who are you studying yoga with?
There’s a local yoga place I just tried tonight it was lovely 🥰
Other than that, I’ve used YouTube
Any suggestions?
Richard and Mary Freeman are amazing. They used to be in Boulder Colorado... Last I heard they were moving/moved to Thailand. But I still see they teach in the US and globally.
After taking a few of their workshops, I moved to Boulder so I could study with them for three years. They are humble and so knowledgeable. Highly recommend
If you have the time for their one month teacher training, it's an experience of a lifetime. If you need housing accommodations, there are usually local yogis with rooms to spare.
✨🙏
Here is their website
Thank you! Can’t wait to learn more 🙏
Death is essentially euphoric because our true nature is eternal bliss which we limit in order to have a human experience.
I had a similar experience many years ago while attending a yoga teacher training retreat. The night before were going to do a silent meditation weekend, I dreamt I died. But it was euphoric, not sad or scary.
I told a classmate and he said "that's great'! He felt that the dream was symbolic of death of the ego.
The ego keeps us in fear of discovering our true nature and constantly distracts us (sort of like the government psyops). So if the ego dies, we can move beyond duality and into the central channel of non duality and the awareness state beyond that.

Why we dream?
