I am curious. Which apps have you paid to use?

Finance Guru

Tasker, but I no longer use it.

Second this.

Although I have 67 profiles as of now, so I get a slight amount of use out of it 🤣🫣

None actually.

Maybe a mobile game or 2 to remove ads long ago that I don't even play anymore.

ppq.ai

Audio Hijack on the Mac and that's probably it. I think maybe Scrivener at some point as well?

X (not anymore)

Construction Calculator

Chess

Windy

Babbel

Joist

Obsidian

Affinity Suite

Worth every penny.

Spotify

Like mobile apps, or count web apps like mail services and such?

I think I've only bought one or two apps my whole life. I don't remember them but I think it was to unlock my phone and to scan Chinese letters with my camera.

Most apps are free. There's really no reason to buy apps and I don't want my money going to corporations. Another annoying thing is everyone wants to charge subscription example, 10usd a month. That's too expensive for an app but most of all. Can't pay with lightning.

I used to buy apps for kids (all kinds of puzzles and stories)

Spotify

Me? None. My wife, Spotify. Family plan for me.

Joplin (not paid, but the app is great so I donated). Same with FUTO keyboard.

Primal

Mozilla Thunderbird

Mozilla Firefox

Adobe Suite

Google Workspaces

Asana

Basecamp

iOS apps:

Fantastical

Threema

Overcast

Prowl (server notifications)

iPeng (for Squeezebox music player)

BrainWave (binaural beats)

Yamaha Chord Tracker (turns MP3s into music charts)

iStroboSoft (high precision guitar tuner)

I tend to be very conservative with purchasing apps on my phone, but these are ones I’ve ended up with, and no regrets with them.

Planeplotter Mobile

OnX Hunt

None. I use open source freeware, but in the pass I paid for Windows ( thanks Linux ).

Pdanet+:

Let's you wifi hotspot without wifi hotspot so your carrier doesn't charge extra.

Subterfuge:

Greatest mobile game ever made

FUTO keyboard:

Only open source keyboard that's as good (and slightly better) than Gboard.

That's it

I've just tried FUTO, it rocks! Thanks

I hate to say it as someone who’s tried software dev myself but none

There was a "minimal phone" or something like that which was very good for me on getting my screen away from me.

Super cheap and very effective.

Gravitus, macro factor, primal, Apple Music

None. Phones suck as a platform. The few apps I do occasionally use are either open source or free.

ProtonVPN

On Android: Koala Sampler and FL Studio Mobile. There are literally no decent free or open source music making apps on mobile.

FairEmail

None.

4 years ago I bought a license for FoxitPDF which I regret & no longer use. Since then, V4V only for at least a dozen apps.

Here or in life
