I've seen a variety of IQs in the Monero community, very intelligent people like Justin Ehrenhofer, Seth for Privacy, Howard Chu, and more, and I have also seen dumb people in Monero.
I've also seen intelligent people like Jameson Lopp, Jack Dorsey, Calle, etc. and I've seen plenty of dumb people in Bitcoin as well.
But the best crypto would be designed for dumb people because as a matter of usage for global adoption, crypto (bitcoin included) has to be intuitive enough that even dumb people could use it easily.
Monero is easier to use as a Layer 1 currency for average people, whereas to utilize low fees, and privacy in Bitcoin self-hosted you need to use mixers, and run lightning nodes, which even Bitcoin experts have found unititutive, and complex as well at times (primarily lightning).
