Would you believe me if I said there’s no statistical relationship between political orientation and bitcoin ownership in the US?
Dropping a report soon, to that effect.

100% believe. Social media would convince you everyone owning Bitcoin is a jacked carnivore bro, but if you attend irl Bitcoin meetups you’ll likely meet as many vegans as carnivores
This 100%
This has been my experience.
I've onboarded plenty of people in my time. None of them are Twitter Carnivore Bros and none of them engage with the bitcoin "community". Frankly I didn't even know there was a toxic bitcoin Twitter until somewhat recently. Go figure Twitter of all places would foster a toxic community 🙄

intrigued to see. will it include data sources?
*Not yet*
So millions of Americans aren’t on bitcoin twitter all day?
Hmm
Would have definitely suspected otherwise
Bitcoin is the most purely capitalistic concept ever. So it fits people who actually LIKE capitalism, and that excludes commies/democrats. But I’m sure you’ve come to another conclusion, by ”sciencing”.
I wouldn’t.
Age is the biggest factor
Would you believe me if I said there is no correlation between political orientation/desire of voters and what their elected officials actually do?
Looking forward to it!
The last report I saw was 3 years old and had a 45%/ 55% split liberal/conservative. But as we know, bitcoin is a dynamic system!
I think bitcoin transcends this sort of complete waste of time, tbh.
Yes. I only know a few other Bitcoiners IRL and they're all more social-democrat minded and one is a registered communist party member.
The Federal Reserve is a private bank, after all.
The way it should be - Bitcoin is for everyone.
Nope; would not believe.
(Perhaps party affiliation, which is only veeeery loosely connected to political orientation)
is anarchist a political orientation?
There was a kind of libertarianism that shows increased rates of bitcoin ownership. Also self-identified libertarians were more likely to own it (still not very likely tho). But no relation on the right left scale or Dem-Republican.
The left/right scale isn’t really a coherent continuous scale that maps to reality. It’s two or more dimensions of various views mapped into one dimension, expressed as the bifurcation topics of the day. “The left” and “the right” are actually two incoherent mega parties where elements switch sides to reform constantly. Blue collar worker interests were apart of “the left” for decades and they have been in the process of resorting into “the right” over the past decade.
The terms left and right come from the two sides of the room during sessions where the monarchy would hold court.
It’s not a good framework for understanding the distribution modern political leanings. What you should do instead is take modern political distribution surveys that recognize this and add one question to the end about Bitcoin ownership. Capture basic demographics age, race, sex, etc Stand outside a dmv or hospital in the locality you want to represent and administer the survey. Then rescale the results to match the demographics of the locality you want to represent incase you over or under sampled anyone.
the best 'numbers' class i ever attended at university was day 1 of a stats class and the prof said anyone can make any numbers look like whatever they want and demonstrated how. at the end I went down, shook his hand, thanked him for the confirmation and dropped the class.
the money humanity desperately needs is a good money for your enemies. i also have reason to believe that a money like this actually increases our incentives to resolve conflicts and settle disputes.
Yes.
