There's always sound. The wind, AC, electricity, hum of the fridge, birds, cars, etc. And if you are in some kind of sensory deprivation chamber you would hear your breath, the shifting of your clothes, or even the blood rushing through your ears and heartbeat.
I usually hear the sound of my computers and anyone working outside.
Pre-tinnitus the silence could be deafening. Post- I long for it

ohhh drat. I’ve had some tinnitus at times. Kinda brief. Well in response to your question, there’s usually ambient noise… or your own breathing sounds. I liked the post cuz all of a sudden I’m like, oh yeah lemme listen to the quiet 😝
