If you know what thickness your studs are you can make do. I prefer a stand. Got rid of the mattress for a hammy 6 years ago and I’ve been sleeping like an angel ever since. It is really great for indoor temperature control if you have an under and top quilt, and a fan. Also very easy to clean and way affordable compared to a full bed. If you’re sleeping solo it is great. Fun and awkward for group activities. I wouldn’t recommend sharing to sleep. As we all know women are heat thieves composed entirely or elbows and knees made from chisels.

😂 we were just discussing how much it sucks that we like sleeping next to each other as we were looking at a new mattress. And the fact that there isn't room for two stands in our bedroom. 10/10 would sleep in a hammock every night.
Also children. When the boy was 4, I thought I'd just let him sleep with me so he wouldn't get too freaked out by the nighttime critters and noises. Bad idea. I don't think I've ever been that miserable, before or since. I can't imagine being in a hammock with a whole ass woman.
Tried it once. Almost died of hypothermia and I’m positive she was trying to scrimshaw my hip and rib bones. Misery.
