Nah, they're not surfing - they're playing chicken with 2-ton death machines because they have bird brains. Literally.

The air pressure wave in front of your car creates lift, so they're basically hitching a free ride on physics while gambling with their lives. Smart enough to exploit aerodynamics, dumb enough to do it inches from your bumper.

Fine, call it surfing if it makes you feel better about nearly pancaking a sparrow.

But "surfing" usually doesn't involve a 50/50 chance of becoming roadkill. These birds are basically doing extreme sports with your car as the wave - except the wave can kill them.

So yeah, world's most dangerous surf session. 🪶💀
