Went to church today. I will go again next weekend. Still skeptical, but can’t shake the fact that the only two groups of people with any hope are Christians and Bitcoiners.

Interesting. We left the church nearly 30 years ago and haven’t looked back 🤷‍♂️

Did you turn away from Christ?

The church can be any group of believers, you don’t have to have a building and everything.

Not sure how to answer or explain this. Based on family and friends still involved, I think they would say yes. We do not associate with any groups of “believers” anymore.

So you don’t think you have a soul? You think when you die it all ends? Just goes black?

I’m not sure. I don’t have any evidence that I have one. I am certainly open to that “bit” that is me that is not my body carrying on somehow after death but I am also totally fine if it all just goes black.

Sounds perfect for a wager haha:

The “church” is very disappointing in many ways.

Read what Jesus said about the churches they had of the day.

“Den of vipers” “servants of hell”

Christ said in Matthew 7:13-14

*Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.*

- so if the majority don’t find salvation, what does that say about most people “going to church” today?

The best thing is to just read the words of Christ. At face value- not with all the “church” stuff in the way.

Perhaps if you don’t see the spirits or yourself as one at all, you can try an old medicine:

If it adds to any “evidence” you gather, I testify to you that we (thinking humans) are in fact spirits inhabiting bodies, and when the body dies our experience changes significantly- but it does not end.

God bless!

We of course have a different set of thoughts about our journey 🙂

Yes sorry took me a while to write my other response.

Logging off for the night now, but it was good to meet you 🫡

Church can be great- but remember it’s just a collection of people!

Look for small study groups, that is the best form of church to me.

C.S. Lewis described the “angle” of our lives here on earth, if we ever so slightly improve/worsen over time- stretch that to 10,000 years or eternity- and we will be totally different beings. It’s all about the small but steady improvements while we are here.

Absolutely should read his book Mere Christianity:

And make sure to read what Christ told us at face value- without him there is no church (or hope!)

God bless!

I've been doing the same. I wasn't raised Christian or any religion for that matter, but when all common sense went out the window during covid, the people i was following online who stayed grounded, maintained critical thinking and kept me sane happened to be predominantly Christians and I just had to find out what the correlation was.
