With Saylor setting up the be the richest person in human history, will he ever donate a sat of it to struggling and dwindling bitcoin devs that made it possible? Nah, thatβs too much to ask.
Discussion
Do the Devs have enough bitcoin? There doesn't need any more Dev work on bitcoin either. It works fine as it is.
The ui is dogshit and needs tons of work, are you kidding? Have you ever used bitcoin core? There are tons of confusing things, bugs and foot guns with the api as well. I have worked on a few of them.
Why do you assume devs have lots of bitcoin?
We don't need any more code to bloat bitcoin. Have the Devs not been stacking for a while? I never said they had lots, but why do they suddenly need charity?
Yeah if all devs stopped working on maintaining it, who will be around when something breaks and then people lose faith. Bitcoin is not magic, itβs like any other software system. It keeps working well because people are maintaining it.
I know many devs don't have spare cash to stack, and they also see all the flaws and potential failure points in Bitcoin, so didn't have the confidence that it was going to succeed as it has.
Lots of devs haven't even been around that long.
Bitcoin hasn't increased in value enough in the past few years to get rich without insanely risky leverage strategies.
This is the shittiest take I think I've ever seen on this topic!
Who the fuck is "we" and how'd they pick you as the voice?
You want bitcoin devs to pay themselves for work today with their own unrealized savings account gains? How about the new 16 year old coming in today, that we need tomorrow? Fuck that noise "Elizabeth"..
Devs are building and maintaining "the new financial roads" on their own dime - yes those running businesses that use the roads should kick down to those bad ass, self sacrificing, Mo Fos!
Year 2106 timestamp bug requires a hardfork to fix. Just one bug. Many other known potential exploits and likely even more unknown yet to come.
If only nostr:npub1t8a7uumfmam38kal4xaakzyjccht4y5jxfs4cmlj0p768pxtwu8skh56yu didnβt throttle articles that comment on thisβ¦.. what does shinobi say? βsorry for the delay, Iβll publish it later this weekβ, both in July and this last week
I said this a few days ago here (about does he donate anything, ever, besides his βgiftβ of just stacking sats, and several people said βhe has the Saylor academy for bitcoin educationβ
Bitch Iβm saying donate sats to devs and like starving children around the world boasting about your riches DAILY. The world thinks Bitcoiners are assholes, letβs prove them wrong.
Time will tell
Yeah, 1 sat is too much to ask. Maybe if those devs stop being lazy and add more decimal places they can ask for 1 microsat.
Saylor said he would zap me as soon as I posted this and he didn't. I retract it. What a cheapskate.
I like how the bear strawman still lives in the hyperbitcoinized world
LOL
Didn't the ETFs say they would fund open source with some of their fees they collect? Did that ever happen or was it just yapping?
Good question
Something about this sentiment bugs me. Who are we to judge Saylor for what he chooses to do or not do with his money? And how do we know all the things he's doing without telling us? It seems a bit on the entitled side to me.
at least he never zapped a single note on Nostr, that's weird enough. And repeatedly posting AI pics about bitcoin on a bitcoin based social protocol seems like a lazy and arragant act
He can do whatever he wants with it, i donβt give a shit. Just an observation and helps me build a better model of him. It would be such an obvious thing if I was in his position, it doesnβt make sense to me.
Whatever happened to βbitcoin is for enemies?β Are you going to whine for tax funding when the USG, PRC, etc pile in?
He's not the great entrepreneur in my opinion because he hasn't built something out of this world. Despite Elons view on bitcoin, he is a much better and more successful entrepreneur
Can appreciate the opinion here. In my opinion, freedom money gives you the βfreedomβ to do whatever you want to do with it. For all we know, Saylor could be donating some of it without βadvertising itβ per se? Whatβs the right amount to donate and to who? Why would we assume that he is not donating? Ultimately itβs his call to do whatever he wishes with his freedom money, nobody else is to decide or judge what he does with his freedom money
When y'all understand that simply reducing active supply increases the value of everyone's holdings on the margins, then technically just indefinitely holding is indirectly "donating" value to every other holder. He doesn't need to donate to you directly to help you, he just needs to buy and hold like everyone else.
This is pocket watching at its finest. How are you if heβs donated to devs or not? What if he has donated anonymously?
Focus on your own bags.
