The only "flaw" I can find in most #Bitcoin maximalists is their overt optimism.

They make the risky assumption that governments will behave within the Rule of Law. They won't.

The Soviet Union or the Nazi Germany remind us that governments will trample anything and anyone they need to.

It’s not optimism it’s belief. Only cucks rescind their beliefs, very few Bitcoiners who have studied it will ever do that. Stand for something or stand for nothing

But it's not about the amazing properties of Bitcoin. It's about the incredible atrocities governments are able to do.

You’re saying optimism, I’m saying belief. Nothing about Govts being brutal. That is another subject

I am optimistic about the future even though I assume govts will attempt to destroy everything.

I adopted bitcoin because I knew "the rule of law" was gone way back when they seized Chrysler from the bond holders. They also quintupled my health insurance costs & tried to force me to keep paying for said insurance. Bitcoin helped me drop my insurance & operate without a bank account so that I couldn't be fined in any enforceable manner.

Most bitcoiners are bitcoiners because we understand exactly what the govt is & what govts tend to do.

I don't doubt that. And I hope that optimism is confirmed.

However, when things break bad governments don't even care anymore who's watching. Just look at covid. And this time they will be organised on a global scale.

The only thing that kept my grandparents alive in Nazi Germany was that overt optimism.

I'm not criticizing optimism.

I'm only making a remark that for governments that is irrelevant.

True, but the internet & video cameras will make it far more difficult to carry out atrocities. Instant communication is a superpower

Do you think so?

Just look at covid. People being assaulted by police for not wearing a f mask and most of the population was on the side of the oppressors. You just need to tell a good story on why you are hurting or arresting those dangerous Bitcoiners, or Freedom seekers.

People won't care. People won't stand up against it.

Yes it seems the population at least bifurcated here. Those who believe it 100% and those at 0%, not much else in between.

Overall the trust is eroding more & more, that is the case here in the southeastern US

Not an assumption that governments will behave. Rather, an impregnable determination to make it so it doesn't matter that they don't, and make it visibly beneficial for them to do so. Moving to a Bitcoin friendly jurisdiction is the plan, where that is will be up to each government.
