The solution is simple. No free media uploads.
Charging a small fee to simply use it would solve that problem. The everything free mentality is part of the problem.
Or wot filters or a bunch of other methods. Point still remains that the point is to introduce a barriers and that also means those barriers will impact new users one way or another. So even i agree, i don't think its a 'mentality' things as much as just a practical reality of 'people dont have any sats and LN wallet to begin with' or 'people dont have any friends on Nostr to bootstrap their WoT' etc.
We will wiggle our way through it....
